Welcome to the New GoMonadnock
We won’t be too shy to tell you that we intend to change the way we in this enchanted region get and share information. We will do so not by reinventing or outcompeting that which already exists but by creating what doesn’t.
You know where to go for local news, but where can you go for coherent discussion of the issues facing our towns, for fresh, dynamic, open debate of ideas new and old? Where can you find unique perspectives from the region’s most intriguing personalities?
You know how lucky you are to be surrounded by dozens of family farms, but where can you go to learn what all of them have for sale - today?
You can always wade into the waters of your town-based Facebook group (if you dare) to get a recommendation for a mason or a mechanic, but where do you go to help you figure out where to go and what to see - tonight?
The answer to all of these questions - and many more - is GoMonadnock.
We talk endlessly about this being a region disproportionately endowed with culture and the arts, with good taste and high levels of education and sophistication. We’re here to promote, cultivate, and foster this environment, not through blind promotion or by hyping all that exists, but through highlighting the best of the best and seeking always to elevate ourselves through rigorous but healthy critique.
We’re also here to connect savvy businesses to consumers - and farmers to eaters - in ways never before possible.
For the post-radio era, we’ll be introducing GoMo Tonight, a 45-minute weekly podcast, the region’s own dedicated solely to local affairs and discussion. Look for our first episode to drop next week on your favorite podcast app.
We’ve already assembled a wildly-assorted preliminary team of regular columnists and contributors to our Voices section, representing some of the most interesting and spirited people from the region, along with a solid number of different towns. But we aren’t done. Maybe you have something to say, or feel there’s a critical viewpoint from your particular town that is being missed - we need to hear from you.
We’re also looking for reviewers - of all kinds. Did you attend a performance that moved you in a special way? Eat a meal that reminded you why life is worth living? Going beyond our fair area, we all benefit from your perspective on albums, films, television - you name it. Send it our way.
And, of course, if you’re a business or event looking for promotion, or a farm looking to participate in our Agricultural Exchange (AgEx) program, we need to hear from you, too.
Our contact information is below, and we’ll take the time to introduce ourselves more fully in the coming months. There’s (only?) three of us on this team: Sam Abbott (when he’s not Selling HomesⓇ) will be handling the business end of things; Zoë Wroten-Heinzmann will head up all things editorial and will be the main curator of our twice-weekly emails; and Chris DiLoreto will head up the overall creative direction and operations.
We’re glad you’re here, and we’re just getting started.
